At 03:30 on August 3, 2024, a catastrophic flash flood and debris flow disaster occurred suddenly in the Gwazi Town area of Kangding City, Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The disaster led to the collapse and interruption of the bridge between Tunnel No. 1 and Tunnel No. 2 on the Ya'an-Kangding Expressway section from Kangding to Luding. It also caused the destruction of houses in Ridi Village in Gwazi Town and the interruption of traffic on the Ridi Village section of National Highway 318, resulting in significant loss of life and property for the local residents.
Upon learning of the situation, Sichuan Shangyue Mining Co., Ltd. actively and proactively took on its corporate social responsibility. The company's chairman immediately dispatched personnel to the disaster site to coordinate with the Kangding City Red Cross. They organized a donation of 1 million yuan to support the emergency rescue and disaster relief efforts, demonstrating their commitment to social responsibility through concrete actions.
