On September 18, the Selangou Mine of Sichuan Shangyue Mining Co., Ltd. began adit exploration operations. This project was undertaken by the 7th Geological Team of the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration and Development, which is mainly responsible for mine geological surveying, drilling of core samples, and exploration of mineral reserves.
Marble is a natural green building material with energy-saving and environmentally friendly properties. Hanbaiyu is a type of marble that is crystal-clear and pure white, with reserves accounting for less than 30% of all marble. It is renowned for its pure white color and delicate texture. Its main chemical component is calcium carbonate, supplemented by small amounts of magnesium carbonate and silicon dioxide. These components endow Hanbaiyu with unique physical properties and aesthetic value.
Hanbaiyu is widely used in many grand projects, such as the Forbidden City, the Golden Water Bridge in front of Tiananmen, the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven, the Lugou Bridge, the Ming Thirteen Tombs, and the Eastern and Western Tombs of the Qing Dynasty. It is not only popular in China but also highly favored in the Middle East, Central Asia, and Western countries, where it is considered a symbol of luxury.
With the progress of the adit exploration work, Shangyue Mining will be able to better explore the potential of the Selangou Hanbaiyu Mine, providing more high-quality marble resources for the global construction market. This will also promote the sustainable development of China's stone industry and enhance its international competitiveness.
