On December 13, 2024, Sichuan Shangyue Mining Co., Ltd. and the International College of the Central Academy of Fine Arts held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony at the Houshayu Campus. Jin Shangshang, Chairman of Sichuan Shangyue Mining Co., Ltd., Liu Gang, Executive Director and General Manager of Beijing Central Academy of Fine Arts Asset Operation and Management Co., Ltd., and Dean of the International College of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, jointly signed the strategic cooperation agreement.
Liu Gang first extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Sichuan Shangyue Mining Co., Ltd. on behalf of the International College. He noted that Hanbaiyu (white marble) has long been a carrier of Chinese culture, and white marble also played a significant role in the European Renaissance. He emphasized that talent is like jade, and through the process of shaping and refining, valuable individuals can emerge. He expressed hope that both parties will focus on integrating material and artistic resources in future cooperation, support the teaching and practice of academy students, create outstanding works, and jointly cultivate professionals with profound knowledge and exquisite skills. This collaboration aims to build a talent pool for the industry and enterprises, empower corporate development, and achieve an efficient cycle of integration between industry, academia, research, and application. Additionally, the International College is willing to work with Sichuan Shangyue Mining Co., Ltd. to use art to serve local commerce, tourism, real estate, and cultural fields, thereby enhancing the urban image. He hoped that both sides will continue to leverage their respective brand and resource advantages to develop synergistically and achieve remarkable cooperation outcomes.
Jin Shangshang introduced the current status and advantages of Sichuan Shangyue Mining Co., Ltd. He expressed his honor in collaborating with the International College of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and stated that the company will adhere to its corporate cultural philosophy, explore the artistic and cultural attributes of Hanbaiyu, and more closely and effectively integrate tradition with contemporary practices. Currently, the company is actively responding to China's Belt and Road Initiative, with overseas market expansion as a key strategic focus. He hopes that through this cooperation, the company and the International College can jointly promote Chinese Hanbaiyu culture to the world.
After the signing ceremony, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on academic research, talent cultivation, and the transformation of research results. Moving forward, they will use mineral materials as a medium to collaborate on contemporary craftsmanship and art creation research, the aesthetic application of materials in architectural design and home decoration, cultural heritage protection of traditional stone materials, and other areas. They will jointly cultivate talents in art creation, fine arts, design, restoration, and other fields, build a platform for dialogue and exchange on material aesthetics between the East and the West, and explore the possibilities of market-oriented applications of material aesthetics.
